Tomorrow's Society & Global Villages" is a forward-thinking domain within the EdFutures Division of YCYW Education Network that addresses the evolving nature of society in the context of globalization. This area focuses on how technological advancements, particularly in communication, have transformed the world into a "Global Village", a concept coined by Marshall McLuhan in the 1960s. The Global Village encapsulates the idea that advancements in communication technologies have effectively shrunk the world into a closely knit community, interconnecting individuals through the exchange of information and ideas.

This domain explores the cultural implications and challenges that the Global Village poses for society, such as the need for media literacy to navigate misinformation and the importance of fostering cross-cultural dialogue and understanding. It also emphasizes the role of education in preparing students to engage with the real-world experts and challenges, equipping them with future-ready skills like advanced questioning techniques, networking, and problem-solving using both human and artificial intelligence.

"Tomorrow's Society & Global Villages" aims to cultivate a new generation that understands the unique values of all cultures and can effectively utilize diverse cultural resources to address future challenges. By integrating the essence of Eastern and Western cultures, YCYW Education Network prepares students to contribute to and thrive in a global community characterized by openness, inclusivity, equity, and justice. The domain encourages students to think critically about the ways in which new media technologies are transforming our world and to consider the implications of these changes for our lives and communities.
