As Asia's first tertiary institution specialising in early childhood education, what is its vision? Dr Betty Chan Po-king, CEO and School Supervisor of Yew Chung Yew Wah Education Network (YCYW), explained clearly at the inception of the Institute, "It is our sincere hope that we can share quality early childhood education with as many people as possible, to bring about a lasting and effective positive impact on the community, to develop YCYW into a recognised centre of excellence in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, and Asia, and to nurture enthusiastic and innovative early education professionals who will support and improve the education sector. We will also develop YCIS into a recognised centre of excellence in education in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and across Asia, nurturing enthusiastic and innovative early education professionals who we hope will support and improve the education sector."
