An education pioneer with deep roots in Hong Kong, China, Yew Chung Yew Wah (YCYW) encapsulates a unique educational pedigree that combines the best of Chinese and Western cultures with a mission to raise competent, compassionate globally aware leaders who strive for a better world.
Visionary educator Madam Tsang Chor-hang founded the first Yew Chung school and kindergarten in Hong Kong in 1932. In the 1970s, Dr Betty Chan Po-king picked up her mantle to provide high quality bilingual education. In the1990s, Yew Chung was invited to Shanghai and Beijing to open schools for expatriate communities on the Chinese mainland. Madam Tsang was ably succeeded by her daughter Dr Betty Chan Po-king along with her husband Professor Paul Yip Kwok-wah, who later founded Yew Chung Yew Wah Education Network to prepare Chinese and expatriate students to make lifelong contributions on the international stage.
Since 1932, YCYW has grown from a seed planted in Hong Kong and transformed into a modern international education system leading the way to a bright future for humanity.
With over 90 years of educational history and nearly 40 years of international education experience, YCYW Education Network has always been at the forefront of the concept of international education. We advocate for the integration of Eastern and Western educational philosophies, emphasizing a deep understanding of both Eastern and Western languages and cultures. Our goal is to cultivate students who possess a global mindset and actively contribute to shaping the future.

YCYW is an unrivalled network of schools across 10 international cities. All YCYW schools operate under the same educational mission and share a similar pedagogy. We understand families sometimes need to be relocated and thus internal transfers within schools have been made easier. Students may continue to receive outstanding education at any of our YCYW schools.
At YCYW Education Network Schools, ages six months to six are all about immersing our students in a supportive, bilingual learning environment, where Chinese and international teachers work together with parents to develop confident, caring, and curious young learners. The focus in these early years is on whole-child development, building the character foundations, personal and social values that will support students for life.
