In the 2025-2026 academic year, YCYW will introduce the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Programme into the existing curricula at YCIS Shanghai, YCIS Beijing, YCIS Qingdao, YWIES Guangzhou, and YWIES Zhejiang Tongxiang.
Why has the HKDSE programme, which originated in Hong Kong SAR, become a popular and well-regarded choice for secondary students? How does the HKDSE programme compare to the IB (International Baccalaureate) programme and the A Level programme? What unique resources for learning and further study would students gain by studying in the HKDSE programme at YCYW?
We have invited Mr Rick Cao, the Authoritative Adviser of YCYW HKDSE Programme, to provide a comprehensive introduction to the programme. As the Assistant to the Chairman of Hok Yau Club and a Consultant for the Greater Bay Area University Resource Centre, Mr Cao has extensive experience in HKDSE counselling and career planning, and has closely followed the programme's development.
