      Ms Linda Li

      Senior Training Specialist in EAL teaching and learning, YCYW

       

      Ms Linda Li has been teaching Chinese as a foreign language to elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as adult learners, for almost 25 years. She has taught at international schools in China, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, India, and Singapore, and at an urban school in Denver, Colorado in the USA. In addition to teaching Chinese, Ms Li is an author, as well as an experienced presenter and trainer. She has conducted many professional development workshops and presented at numerous conferences around the world.

       

      This webinar will provide parents with an overview of language development and second language acquisition, with a specific focus on Chinese-English bilingual learners. It will address the challenges that Chinese students might face in learning English, and discuss the importance of maintaining Chinese. It will also share data of how long it takes to become proficient in English and offer recommendations for parents to support both their native language and English.
